Welcome to Lakeside Psychology Pakenham

Lakeside Psychology is a private psychology clinic located in Pakenham, in the outer south east of Melbourne. We offer help for children, adolescents and adults for a range of personal and emotional problems, and psychological disorders. We provide individual counselling, couples counselling, psychoeducational assessment, early intervention for autism, group programs and community events. We are driven by our passion to help people move through their difficulties and towards a more connected and meaningful future.

All members of our team are passionate about creating a comfortable and safe environment for you to begin to explore your challenges and achieve the change you desire. We feel privileged to walk alongside you in difficult times and ensure that all the work we do together is shown to be effective through evidence-based treatments.

Our psychologists draw from a range of treatment approaches such as CBT, DBT, ACT, FBT and EFT (yes, our field uses a lot of acronyms!) but all of our work is underpinned by attachment theory. Attachment theory tells us that we are all driven by the same needs to feel safe, important, loved and connected, however that different experiences and circumstances can disrupt these needs, making everything seem so much harder and the risk of psychological distress significantly greater. By drawing on attachment theory we help our clients understand their experiences and distress through this lens, and help them recover to ensure that their change is sustained, whilst also opening up opportunities for their future growth.
