Child & Adolescent Psychologist – permanent employed full-time or part-time position

Lakeside Psychology is looking for a passionate Child and Adolescent Psychologist to join the team. You will positively impact the lives of children and adolescents, as well as their parents and families through effective psychological services, so that they can experience a sense of security and wellbeing, and achieve their full potential at school and with their friends. The positon allows for flexible work arrangements with the option of working Saturdays and potential opportunities to work from home.

Position Requirements:

Education:

  • Postgraduate qualification in psychology or higher (graduates are encouraged to apply)

Qualifications:

  • Registered with Psychology Board of Australia (endorsement in clinical, counselling or educational/developmental psychology desirable)

Experience:

  • Assessing and treating children and adolescents for a range of presenting problems and psychological disorders.
  • Administering and reporting on range of psychoeducational assessments with children and adolescents for intellectual disability, giftedness and learning disorders (desirable).
  • Providing services under a range of funding programs (e.g. Medicare, NDIS, DSS etc.).

Skills:  

  • Helping children and adolescents using attachment-based approaches (desirable).

Characteristics:

  • Being passionate about providing exceptional, client-centred services.
  • Working effectively on your own and within a team environment.
  • A highly motivated and innovative attitude toward service delivery.
  • High level of self-awareness, including areas of interpersonal strengths and areas for further development.
  • Able to admit mistakes and use for opportunities for learning, growth and development.
  • Committed to values of excellence, compassion, integrity, passion and positivity.

Other:

  • Registration (or eligible to be) with Medicare Australia.
  • Current Professional Indemnity Insurance, and Working with Children and Police Check.

As a Child and Adolescent Psychologist, you will be responsible for:

  1. Helping a diverse range of children, adolescents and families through strategic treatment planning and evidence-based, best practice approaches to achieve their goals.
  2. Impacting the broader community to promote mental health and wellbeing through school presentations and community events.
  3. Designing creative ways of communicating to the community about mental health in children and adolescents for our website and social media.
  4. Contributing strategically to the vision and mission of Lakeside Psychology.
